This is why privacy on the Internet is critical. Whilst religious beliefs
are
not, in tota, currently illegal in most countries, specific aspects of
every
religious system
have been declared illegal in virtually every country
on the planet. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Galileo isn't the worst by a long shot. Though they admitted they were wrong
for what they did to him a while back.
I still like the church of FSM for making this point though.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Last time I got involved in a religious discussion on Facebook, another
contributor had one of his posts deleted because of its content. He (assured us
he) had listed some publicly-available information about a government scheme
that had some parallels to the church-sponsored schemes wunder discussion, but
he happened to use the right keywords to trigger an automatic censor. Of
course, terrorists talk about the government all the time.
So, instead of twisting an interpretation of 'religion' to suppress people's
views on politics, we had a bot misinterpreting 'political' words to suppress a
discussion on religion. I'm not sure if that's funny or just depressing, but as
it's spring this week I'll call it funny. :o)
