I like the notion of allowing acquittal based on non-
unanimous verdicts - but - I suspect it already works like
that in practice. If the prosecution only convinces 2
people - I suspect they usually don't bother wasting any
more time. I'm also fine with retrying hung juries with
only one holdout.

And - I prefer the unanimous verdict for conviction. It is
important to remember that government is a highly necessary,
but dangerous evil.

So far as it is practical, reducing state power is generally
preferred. (Mind you - replacing state power with corporate
power isn't ideal...or mob rule...or...duelists...there
isn't any black and white answer that I know of...)

Great movie!

That is such a great movie. I bought it a few months ago after seeing a
mention on it in a comment on Groklaw. I watched it three times--it's a
human drama as compelling as any ever put to screen. Even 55 years
later, it is still excellent and still relevant and inspiring.

5 stars!
