... in the case cited, the free product (sample) was also the same product that
they were trying to sell. Are you saying that Google was giving away free
advertising? They weren't.

The case cited wasn't giving away free pens trying to sell pads of paper. Your
NBC example giving away free televisions is closer, but still not on target.
More like NBC giving away the software used to make a TV work, but the entity
receiving the software still needs to build a TV to put the software in. Now
the question is does that software allow the end user to view only NBC or can
they view any channel? (Or in this case, can Android use any search engine or
only Google?)
