Well, it is all unpatentable as we know, but I doubt Oracle want to deploy that
particular footgun ...

I think that indirect references and symbolic references are different things.
All Symbolic reference are indirect but not all indirect references are
symbolic.
I consider a table index and the subsequent table lookup to be indirect not
symbolic.
When the table contains names and the table is searched (one way or another) to
find the reference, I consider that to be symbolic.
Both techniques can be used statically or dynamically.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
