Nope, NT preceded 95. Windows 95 came out in 1995. Windows
NT 3.1 came out in 1993.

But Windows security was not effective.
Windows networking back then was not TCP/IP, but LAN Manager.
I remember breaking the encryption for the password file by
changing my password repeatedly and noting the correlations.
It used ROT-13 to encrypt the passwords. Hardly a secure
method! You could have used the Captain Marvel Magic Decoder
Ring to decrypt Microsoft LAN Manager password files.

No, NT predates 95.
NT was promoted as having C2 security, BUT ONLY WHEN NOT
CONNECTED TO A NETWORK.
I think the statement re 'not designed for the internet' is
correct.
