SCO v. Novell also should have taught you that the copyright
"markings" in the file are irrelevant.

What matters is the ability to prove provenance by mustering evidence and having
someone able to testify about the matter.

You can put whatever copyright claims you like in any file, but if someone else
can prove you wrong, you have no way to enforce your claimed copyright.

Additionally, there is no such package as java.util.arrays, rather
java.util.Arrays is the class that implements rangeCheck() as a private static
member.

I thought you were a programmer, why didn't you check the code?
