Just musing here, but wondering about the possibility of a solution to other
issues. If the constitution prohibits unequal protection and corporations are
'people,' then why not assert they they were exercising collective bargaining
rights? It could not only give the companies in question a defense, but it
could provide the bucket of cold water our government needs to wake up and
rewrite corporate law. I can see the need for corporations to be some sort of a
separate body (hence the name corporation) to give investors some safety.
However, giving them person status just doesn't work.
Maybe, pushing this corporations_are_people legality could actually get things
changed.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
