If they wanted to improve it they could have done that as
is.
If "who" wanted to improve "what"?
Where's your
cite for this widget thing, I've not heard that
before and would like to read
about it.
What "widget thing?" I have given a cite that
describes both how plugins are a recent development in GCC, and were only
allowed because it was felt that the restrictions that were applied technically
(by making it difficult to export internal compiler data to a non-GPLed program,
optimize it, and reimport it) can now be applied legally, by restricting the use
of the output of the compiler if non-GPLed parts were used in the process. If
that's what you meant, then look at the cite; if not, please be more
specific.
To act like you have to change license to make changes,
however is simply a false statement.
Which I never made. And I
would appreciate it if you would stop with the "dishonest", "false", etc.
