I am reminded of Steve Martin in The Jerk writing all those damages checks by
hand. Each party received $1.09 and The Jerk read it out loud each time he wrote
a check, with greater and greater vexation in his voice.
IMHO this would be the -perfect- award, should Google lose at all.
One dollar to make it legal, and one cent for every line of infringed code.
Google should then make one of those giant celebratory checks to hand to them
before the press with balloons and a band.
The real $1.09 would be transferred via escrow service in the names of both
Boies and Ellison collectively so that they would both have to go down and sign
for the disbursement in person, which they would then receive as a check that
would have to be deposited somewhere.
