he probably didn't literally write it 100 times

I interpreted those tweets/comments to mean, that Judge Alsup had written
several hundred lines worth of short functions similar to rangeCheck.

So he knows exactly how much effort and originality it takes to write something
like rangeCheck : at most, about five minutes worth.

(I propose here that an engineer like Joshua Bloch could write that rangeCheck
function completely as a rote activity, as fast as his fingers could type out
the text. It probably took him a total of like fifteen seconds.)

Willful infringement of Oracle's API!
Authored by: Cassandra on Tuesday, May 15 2012 @ 07:04 PM EDT
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that a Judge would dare implement part of Oracle's Most Holy API like this! Hopefully, David Boies is extracting license fees from Judge Alsup as we speak!
