Can you honestly say that anyone is really qualified to set on a jury the way things are now?

I always thought the principle was that one was judged by a jury of ones peers.

Unfortunately the jury selection process itself creates a requirement that a jury member is NOT qualified in the subject matter involved. As such, it's a rather sad state when a programer is rejected from a jury in a trial involving software copyright and/or software patents. Where is ones peers when one needs them?
