I posted the link to the Oracle/Sun bug detail (request for
enhancement) item that logged the acceptance in 2009 for
OpenJDK.

On the other hand for the purposes of damages the right
scope is clearly 9 lines out of 9 million. Oracle may get
their pound of statutory damages on that item, but they'll
lose far more in goodwill with the Java community.

IBM is already touting the incorporation of OpenJDK APIs
into the Java support for their relational database DB2.
