Changes to the Missouri Plan
Authored by: YurtGuppy on Friday, May 11 2012 @ 12:17 PM EDT
I know that many here are fond of the Missouri Plan and similar means of selecting people for elevation as judges. I have some objections to that method, but I think I understand at least a bit of the ups and downs of the issue.

This article talks about recent changes to enacted by the legislative bodies in Missouri to make modifications to their system. The author has her own biases, but I think even if you are a fan of the Missouri Plan you will want to check it out.

Reportage of the service quickly queried whether or not global mode would incur the legal wrath of Big Content - which now seems to have happened rather rapidly: Chief FYX'er Andrew Schick has posted a statement that his company "has a made a decision to withdraw its popular ‘global mode’ service from the market for the time being".

The service shuts down at 11.59pm on Friday night, New Zealand time.

An attempt to explain the 520 patent by Mike James:

i-programmer.info

His brief summary at the end of the article brought a smile to my face:

At the end of reading the first patent my opinion is that if this is patentable then we all could be filing about 10 patents a week, if not more.

SSO of the American Constitution
Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, May 12 2012 @ 11:45 AM EDT
Taking all this SSO bollocks to its logical (and stupid) conclusion, it has been found as a matter of law that the Constitution of America infringes, in part, on the copyrighted Stucture, Sequence and Organization of the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. And you guys were worrying how much money you owe the Chinese?
