And chuck the class files for ELF based shared libraries.

As I recall, ELF has specifications for the length of every symbolic string. All
that is needed is the fully qualified symbolic name.

Should even be faster as suddenly there are no class hierarchies to process
separately.

And the Java bytecode to dex translator could do the work.

Where are they going to get such a compiler?

There are multiple Java compiler implementations. I would
imagine the best basis would be the Eclipse compiler. But
there is no reason they couldn't be cheeky and use the OpenJDK
javac
