Oracle already have a very bad reputation for more than a decade. For those who
care, they have a reputation far worst than Microsoft since a long time ago.
Many have told me personally that they would never want to work at Oracle.
Maybe this will cause those who try justify working there with excuses to think
again. However, if the $$$ still looks good in their eyes, I doubt they will
change their mind. Also, if anyone still subscribes-to/values the Java religion
over everything else, they will likely consider working for Oracle strongly
(despite misgivings about Oracle's behaviour).
There are also those who actually agree with Oracle for various reasons. To them
this is actually acceptable, and they might even join Oracle to make sure that
they don't end up on the opposite side of the courtroom.
Then there are those whose companies were bought up by Oracle, and probably find
it really hard to leave their jobs if they are still working for Oracle. Will
this make a difference for them? I have my doubts. Though for many, I wouldn't
be surprise if they will end up leaving regardless of whether they want to, like
those who have left before them.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
