Latitudes are straight if you are looking at the sphere from 90 deg from the
axis, if you look at them from directly above them (90 deg to the surface at
that point), then they are all curved except for the one at 0.

It all depends on where you're looking from.

Just like this lawsuit: If you're looking to make lots of money quickly without
worrying about consequences, it all makes perfect sense.

Don't forget we're in four dimensions, so your intuition as to what sounds right
is totally wrong. Let's think of a satellite in orbit...

It's perfectly possible for a satellite to orbit overhead the equator. Or
overhead a line of longitude. But a satellite could NOT orbit overhead latitude
+-1. It would require a constant force to keep it in the right place.

And the relativistic definition of a straight line can be stated as "the
path described by an object in free fall" - if it has a force applied to
it, it is not in free fall.
