Did they finally cave in and port the CLI to ARM? Last time
I heard, they weren't going to port the full VM, and the
only way to get apps into WoA was going to be getting them
through the Zune Marketplace (or whatever name they give it
now) for the Metro Interface (Designed by Playskool). Oh,
and most big .Net apps actually include many calls to native
APIs, making porting those hard to impossible without major
rewrites (In fact I have heard that many products that
require .Net actually use only .Net for the GUI, and then
write the logic in C/C++, but that's *old* hearsay, so it
might not be the case any more. Mind you, my limited
experience with Windows programming makes me preder .Net
window APIs to the prior Microsoft APIs. Pure DirectX APIs
for windows were painful back when I looked at them.)[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
