"You will indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Sun and its
licensors from any claims arising or resulting from: (i)
your use of the Specification; (ii) the use or distribution
of your Java application, applet and/or clean room
implementation; and/or (iii) any claims that later versions
or releases of any Specification furnished to you are
incompatible with the Specification provided to you under
this license."
Apparently this is a quote from one of Sun's Java
Specification Publications too. Most likely JavaBeans, which
Schwartz has been quoted as making available to Google on
his blog![ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Both your comment and the child comment make the point that Sun licensed Harmony
to use any or all of the reference specification at the time that Harmony did
the implementation as long as Sun were not liable for any implementation snafus.
Oracle are attempting to revise history by pointing the court to licence terms
and conditions that were not in force at the time and therefore not applicable
to Harmony or the users of their API implementations.
I hate their lying selves with a passion.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
