But unfortunately none of this came out during the cross-examination of the
Oracle witnesses. I would suspect the reason for that is that Google's attorneys
missed the significance of such questions because they are attorneys, not

The standard for originality and creativity with respect to copyright is very
low. Keep in mind that this is not a patent issue wher originality and
"prior art" are determinative. You can copyright a work whose concepts
and ideas are not original so long as your "expression" of those ideas
is sufficiently creative - originality (of expression) is one aspect of the test
