Wondering if FUD/PR campaigning can have an effect on members of
the jury. (Facebook ...) Think it is unlikely that some did not
pick it up somewhere. And suppose they where not very interested
in the subject, would they have questioned what they red or heard?
The reporting about the actions of congress may have supported
that impressing.
Could some negative image of a company as the representation of
evil stayed in the back of some members mind, or has all the
evidence replaced that?

It is called the law, get over it.

It is no different than a murder trial. A jury isn't an expert is forensic
analysis but they still decide the outcome.
