Jury in Oracle v. Google Has Reached a Verdict on All Questions but One ~pj
Authored by: BJ on Friday, May 04 2012 @ 03:54 PM EDT
That question is ill-phrased. Functionality from whose
perspective? The Google developer of the classes and
methods? The developer of an Android app?

Sigh!

My bet is that it is #3... with the file names. So, maybe they will guess?

My bet is that it is #3... with the file names.

Really, should a jury of non-technical people even be asked to rule on this
stuff? It's way above their heads, and they will end up resorting to a
"guess" (kinda like guessing at a multiple choice option in a text).

Is a "guess" justice?

Maybe this jury should have submitted their rulings in a essay, to explain why
they voted a certain way, so that we could follow the logic, or lack of...,
depending?

My bet is #1 the API issue

I suspect it is non-infringed all the way for the rest, but they can't make
their minds up on the API issue because of the inconsistent instructions.
