These days, copyright seems to be all about driving jobs out of the US, c.f.
Costco v Omega.

If the good judge rules that the API SSO is copyrightable, all google has to do
is to develop and deploy such a translation program in Europe. They ship a new
version of Android with a completely changed API, and anybody can submit their
source (or even object code!) to a server in Europe running this translation
program to convert programs to the new version of Android.
If the judge rules that method signatures are not copyrightable, it's even
easier -- google could automagically upgrade all the packages in the Android
store overnight.
Of course, this just points out how silly the whole thing is.
