This analysis ignores the obvious difference that the language used by a novelist, unlike an original computer language, is not itself the author's work of original creative expression. The novelist does not create the language in which she writes.

Interesting. The English language is a bastard creating hobbled together originally from Anglo/Saxon but now a days including words from pretty well every other language. And when I listen to our French/Spanish support guy talking I hear things like "High speed internet" mixed in which apparently has snuck into the Spanish language.

Now take Java. What parts of that language is truly unique? How about the API? Net, IO, etc, etc.
