Someone please jump in to correct me where I'm wrong, but the status of a
corporation entity is a form of personhood as a matter of how our business law
has been set up for a very long time. That isn't to say that the law is
correctly set up, but that there is a legacy to overcome where we want changes.
Although there are provisions to 'pierce the corporate veil' when a corporate
employee crosses lines, the nature of granting a corporate status is to give
investors and employees some protection (but not immunity) from losses if a
company fails.

Personally, I think it's past time to review those laws for updating and for
addressing some of the abuses that we see today. Some laws need rewriting, if
not elimination or augmenting. If you agree, then please write your congressman
or senator!

Punishment for corporations

It was sort of funny when I watched the Matrix and Terminator movies recently,
and I realized they were metaphors for immoral machines ruling humanity -- Which
is exactly what has already happened.

Laws and corporations are intangible idea machines. Corporations are legal
constructs so complex that they have now evolved a life of their own from the
laws they're made of. Sure, there are people acting as pistons and gears, and
people pulling the levers, but they all are simply following the idea machine's
programming.

The movies made the point clear: Beware! The machines you make can enslave and
oppress you!

Indeed. Only the Federalists' notion of "The spirit of the Law" could
have saved us. Alas, the Democratic-Republican party (yes, singular) beat them
out and the prevailing belief that we must follow "The Letter of the
Law" now shows it's true form: Obey the programming at all costs!

Those who practice law should be keenly aware of the part they play. Are they
mere logic gates or cogs in the machine, following the programming as precisely
as possible? If so, then it's obvious why other more sensible beings have an
aversion to their moral ethic: I'm just following the programming.

The founding fathers of the US gave the common people only one check and balance
against the rule of law: Jury Nullification; Freedom to say the law is invalid.
However, even this has come under attack.

Recently I attended Jury selection whereby the judge explained a law to us, and
then asked if any would be able to decide according to the letter of this law.
NOT ONE potential juror raised their hand -- The law was Corrupt! Quite
perturbed the Judge said, "Well then I guess we'll need a whole new
Jury!"

This is EVIL. It is Wrong. It ensures the legal machines will enslave us. A
statistician can not pick and choose what statistics to present. They must say:
Of all the samples this was the average. It is not a Jury representative of
your Peers after they have been filtered down to only those favorable to the
cause!

Our only weapons against the Intangible Thought Machine invasion has been
stripped from us.

Punishment for corporations

I would be happy to see lawbreaking corporations face house arrest... say 30
days with no telephone, no Internet, no electricity, no water, no mail, no
trucks, doors chained. Employees may stay in for the duration but note: no
pizza deliveries, no sewage.

I was thinking perhaps revoke their charter, but that would make the employees
suffer. Locking up the BOD would be next best and would send a shocking message
to all the others directors that are not keeping an eye on the corp.
