European Directives

Bear in mind that European Directives are LAW. They are not directly enforceable
in any European country. But all countries are obliged by treaty to enact all
Directives into law.

So if the court asks the European Court to interpret a Directive, then it is
asking the European Court to tell it what English law should be. If English law
doesn't agree, then Britain is in breach of the treaty.
