More re: Apple

User interaction is a language.

So I assume that Apple want to have some kind of IP protection on their
"language" of user interface.

Otherwise anyone could gin up the same "look and feel" (our least
favorite phrase) and be in Apple's back pocket.

A different hardware implementation of the UI, if you will.
A black box that takes the same inputs and produces the same outputs.
