Microsoft and B&N
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, May 01 2012 @ 10:43 AM EDT
B&N wasn't really in a financial state to pay for a long legal battle. They
are no Google. They brought up potentially substantial questions, for which we
will unfortunately get no answers. But, I would bet that B&N got more from
Microsoft than they will have to pay in licensing fees. Perhaps this is all
B&N ever wanted to resolve the lawsuit, I'm sure they have seen the pattern
of how Microsoft throws its weight around by throwing its money around, c.f.
Novell. B&N had also been trying to spin off it's Nook business, as they are
in corporate survival mode.
