Think about your eyes!
Authored by: tiger99 on Monday, April 30 2012 @ 01:36 PM EDT
When your eyes are feeling the strain, an E-paper Kindle is just what you need. I know, I bought one on Saturday for that reason, and it is proving very successful.

I have never seen any other display technology which is so easy on the eyes.

Having said that, the Galaxy Note is a very fine piece of equipment, which can accomplish far more than a Kindle, if your eyes are up to it.

battery life
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, April 30 2012 @ 01:37 PM EDT
I think the kindle battery life (or any dedicated e-ink reader) tends to
significantly exceed that of a tablet.

This may or may not be a factor, but I use my kindle heavily, and tend to
randomly charge it for (I would guess) about 20 minutes about every week
whenever I think of it It has never run out of charge.

I would love that degree of freedom with my other gadgets.

Also there are other non-kindle readers. In the UK, I think kobo readers are
sold in WH Smith. YMMV.
