Google books for example, Kobo, & many more options.
Also there
are an enormous library of free and public domain works
available in various
ebook formats if you care to look around.
On this very topic, you could
do worse than Bruce Eckel's series of books
(including "Thinking in Java")
freely downloadable.
He does also sell editions.

authors you like or find

Remember the saying "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"? When M$ filed
suit against B&N, I doubt their intention was "joining", nor was
it their intent to pay B&N hundreds of millions of dollars.
It's not *exactly* what we wanted as an outcome, but it's a far sight better
than it might have been, and much better than what Microsoft had in mind. Of
course, when you have to wrestle a pig, you seldom end up as clean as you'd
like.
I think the support for B&N made a big difference, and will continue to make
a big difference to the next potential target M$ may take aim at. I personally
will continue to support B&N - I'm planning on buying another Android tablet
from them. Not a Windows tablet.
Hopefully, same as lots of people.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
