Might this have something to do with the current lawsuit?

Department of Commerce wants to keep patents secret.

Link Doesn't seem quite fair to me.

It also should cause a huge decline in research and developement since no one knows whats in the works for being patented.

Don't Let Google Intercept Your Wireless Data
Authored by: celtic_hackr on Monday, April 30 2012 @ 02:03 PM EDT
There are unencrypted wifi points in my neighborhood.
I sometimes open one of mine up. At all times I run two access points. One uses
encryption and a secure password. One is usually encrypted and is named
"Anonymous". It's usually password protected, and usually encrypted.

I keep my LAN behind the secured accesspoint. I haven't noticed many people
connecting or using my anonymous point, but it's there. It may add some risk to
me. To each their own.

I like my communications secured, and often bypass the wifi altogether, as I
wired the whole house, long ago. But the wire needs an upgrade now to GB.

Microsoft to Invest in Barnes & Noble's Nook
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, April 30 2012 @ 03:55 PM EDT
I predict that within 3 years (by May 2015), we'll be reading about Barnes and
Noble being bought, merged, acquired, or otherwise ceasing to exist as an
independent entity.
