Sloppy filing by Oracle

It's quite clear that they don't know what it is, or what it's for anyway.

I think TCK came first

I think the term TCK came first. It's what is used in the JSPA contract. The term can be used with any JSR (Java Specification Request) which is a written specification for some aspect of the Java Technology including: the language, virtual machine, Platform Editions, Profiles, and application programming interfaces.

JCK refers to the specific TCK for "Java". IMO they should have used JTCK. Oh well.

do you trust wikipedia?

If you trust wikipedia then they may have a clue

"The Technology Compatibility Kit for a particular Java platform is called
Java Compatibility Kit (JCK). It is an extensive test suite used by Oracle and
licensees to ensure compatible implementations of the platform."

It suggests there that TCK is a more general term and a JCK is the name of an
implementation of a TCK to test a particular java platform.
