The particle Xi_b^* comprises one "up," one
"strange" and one
"bottom" quark (usb), is electrically
neutral and has a spin of 3/2 (1.5). Its
mass is comparable
to that of a lithium atom.
Lithium is
nearly seven times the mass of a hydrogen atom,
so this particle is heavy. The
particle is so unstable it
decays before it hits the detector, so we are never
going to
see any. Just as well, because if you saw a bunch of these,
and were
trying to tell somebody, good luck on trying to
pronounce its name. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Oh, just another baryon.
I thought LHC was looking
for a rather special boson.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
