USL removed BSD copyrights

I merely jumped on your statement that the USL code was missing copyright
statements, and pointed out that in THAT case, the court was reasonably
convinced they had been wrongfully removed.

You can't draw a valid comparison with "they're not there" and
"defendant has shown their copyrights were removed". It's possible Sun
removed 3rd-party copyrights, but given their tie-in with Unix, very unlikely
unless it was genuinely rogue engineers. But yes, it was remiss of the witness
to assume that it was SUN engineers who had failed to add a copyright statement
...
