Google: Related to Sabadje [sp?] trying to build a phone?
The correct spelling is SavaJe. (Switch the J and S around to see what it was about) More here.

thee JSR's -> the JSR's

Oracle: Then Mr. Reinhold's description of thee JSR's…

should be "description of the JSR's".

Doug Lea

I believe the references to "Dr. Lee" and "Professor Lee"
are referring to Doug Lea of the State University
of New York at Oswego (http://g.oswego.edu). The misspelling occurs in other
transcripts.

Re-direct of Jonathan Schwartz

If I'm not mistaken, on the second instance of the heading,

Re-direct of Jonathan Schwartz --> Re-cross of Jonathan Schwartz

"Google: You made a lot of money when Sun bought Oracle?"

Ah, that would have been fun. I'm hoping that the Google lawyer didn't make such
a mistake, so I guess our otherwise wonderful reporter got it backwards in his
transcription. :)

Sun bought Oracle -> Oracle bought Sun
in update 6, Google cross of McNealy.

Hmmm. I have a recollection that Google's counsel corrected itself
immediately thereafter, and that I missed recording the correction. I have to
type quietly or risk getting shut down or even thrown out of the courtroom,
so I am making a conscious effort to keep my fingers on the keys to minimize
key bounce sounds. The judge threw several glares in the direction of the
gallery when a guy to my right unleashed intermittent barrages of mad key-
clicking.

This is why I like handwritten notes better; they evoke a better memory of
what went on, versus text file recording. It's a trade-off. You get faster
(same-ish day) or a fuller report. After all the work of transcribing 20-30
handwritten pages per day during the first week of the trial, I opted for
faster,
and less complete.

Being in the courtroom has been an incredibly rich experience for me. I've
seen some of my heroes in person (the world-class anti-heroes I could do
without), and have seen an amazing judge trying his best to ensure that the
jury is truly informed with the information that they need to decide the case.
Not to mention the lawyers, who are all at the top of their field. I just wish
that MoFo hadn't been brought in as co-counsel for Oracle. It would have
been really cool to see another Boies v. MoFo, a la the SCO v. Novell case. But

then again, we wouldn't have seen Bob Van Nest spanking Oracle with a
rolled-up newspaper as he rubs their nose in the mess of their own making (a
poor and ineffective method for training dogs, but maybe it works on
humans? We can only hope).
