Schwartz may not have been a friend of Mono..... Then in Miguels eyes he's not a
friend of FOSS

SUN on open source...
Authored by: mtew on Friday, April 27 2012 @ 02:22 AM EDT
SUN's position on open source was more than a little confusing. IIRC it would
make a couple steps in favor of open source and then do anything from take
another step forward to three steps back.

And that confusion was one of the (if not the main) causes of its demise.

Why would a Mono guy know who a friend of Open Source is?

Sun was by no means an OSS champion. Schwartz even said as
much in his testimony:

Google: Did Sun participate in the OSS movement?

Jonathan Schwartz: We were slow to do this. We didn't see how
to make money off of it.

De Icaza's company's products are proprietary software (phone app development
software). They may contribute to Mono and Mono may be open source, but their
own business uses an "open core" strategy. I can't see de Icaza as
being in any sort of a position to criticize Sun.
