@Anon A real concern. OTOH, it is actually really hard to
change corporate culture. (Eg., I'm pretty sure that M$
understands that being full of 'engineers' who don't really
care about engineering isn't helping their bottom line.)
So, I'm hoping that, even after Larry and Sergei leave,
Google will remain better than the average company. (Sun
did...until they were bought by Oracle.)

@PJ Thing is...Florian's FUD is effective. The main cost of
defending against these lawsuits is _not_ the expected
damages. The main cost of defending against these lawsuits
is the FUD they raise - that can have real consequences in
terms of decision-making by partners, et cetera. (Eg.,
putting Windows Phone in as a backup plan.) So far as
Florian and other shills can prolong uncertainty, they
succeed and reduce the adoption of FOSS. Of course,
eventually, they'll be shown to be incorrect - but they can
always change their names and start over...and FUD will
expand so far as it is effective.

Even though you are right about the level of research from
the average media outlet - I can't help hoping that exposure
to accuracy would result in some of the better journalists
(or simply some journalists with an axe to grind against
another outlet) using Groklaw's output. I may also be a
hopeless optimist.

@Anon Sounds cool and low maintenance. :)
