not that I like them too much but Wuala (https://www.wuala.com/) has better
conditions and the content remains yours as it is encrypted on your side.
All servers in safer places too and the mother company LaCie is French but the
owner of Wuala is LaCie Switzerland...

> The Newspick points out that if you (easily) exceed the basic service
limits, then Google Drive will cost you money.

Google has had for-pay storage increments above the free allotment for
Gmail/Picasa/etc. for many years.... It's just much easier to go beyond the
free amount if you're actually storing all your files in the cloud.

I don't see a huge problem, other than people
don't understand the wording. If you post something
and click on a link to share it with a friend, now
your friend has it too. So you have to have the right
to do that and to give Google the right to show it to
your friend. Also if you leave someday, Google doesn't
want to have to go through all its stuff and ask your
friend to give it back blah blah or get sued.

That's all I see. What do you see?

They probably need this in order to be able to put content
through format conversions, share with contacts, and to do
automatic translation etc.
