It's all over for the traditional journals now - sooner or
later. However,
what about the vast horde of papers they are
sitting on from the past? Will
they hold them ransom for the
next century? We might have to enact legislation
to

Now... lessee... who do I trust more:
A: a peer review process that I
don't even know actually happens via individuals whose credentials I have no
awareness of
or
B: a peer review process that includes another
University providing open comments by individuals whose credentials are readily
available
That's a question that should have such an obvious answer it
shouldn't even be worth asking:
I'll take the open process over the closed
process any time!
