Google argued: It's not and supplied a bunch of supporting case law.

If API design can be patented (which it can't, please <deity/>!), it makes
Oracles position moot, as in...

"sorry , you can ask for what you like, but what you should have done was
ask the PTO, not me, denied as a matter of law."

So it's a sensible question to ask, even if it sounds off.

It's Information Weak, more likely a mis-speak.
Note that our reporter didn't notice anything special
about the 1GB download being "forged".
