GNU Emacs calls itself a "sel f-documenting" editor because every Elisp API includes a documentation string in its code and Emacs dynamically combines these into the on screen help facilities.

So even GNU uses the same meaning of "self-documenting" as this witness, and has for decades. You, sir, may like a different meaning of the word, but this does not make everyone who uses another meaning a liar for it. (That doesn't make them truth speakers either though).
