Thats like asking me if I write

1+2=3 if not its false

And asking if I now have a copyright on it. Some things cant
be copyrighted, especially things that have no other way of
writing them.

Yes you could do this. In fact, that was the entire basis for MS prevailing in
MS v.
Apple.

However, an obfuscation script would be less efficient than the reverse
engineering work Microsoft did when they developed Windows.

This is why software companies like patents more than copyright.
