This is interesting.
I believe they inadvertently acquired a patent relating to
the pull-to refresh mobile UI element from a client app
company they bought. This technology is used in a lot of
mobile apps without licensing...

If one really believes patents are evil, they would make their inventions known
in a very public manor and not file, thus providing a defined 'prior art' date.
To acknowledge a need for patents, whether for defensive or other reasons, is to
give patents further weight.
Such a 'Twitter' ideas is pure spins as this provides a mechanism for the
inventor to further monetize his 'invention' (regardless if there is prior art
or a lack of 'skilled in the art' invention itself). In other words, just
another income stream....
If 'Twitter' was genuine, they would lobby for true patent change. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
