Speed trading
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, April 18 2012 @ 11:00 PM EDT
I think that there might be a possibility that providing access to the trading
requests (which is how I believe that this thing works) by providing rack
space
and connections should put the stock exchanges at risk of being sued for
lost
profits by some of the bigger investers.
It also seems to me to be "Insider trading" in some sense of the
phrase but
it
may not be caught by the current legislation.
Of course to suddenly prohibit it may give rise to serious cash flow problems
for the stock exchanges.

I don't see how any honest person could say with a straight face that high-frequency trading does anything whatsoever to make the world a better place.

I am sure that any successful high-frequency trader can say perfectly honestly that high-frequency trading makes his world a better place.

Perhaps not for anyone else...
