The book is copyrighted as to the structure selection and arrangement and the
creative expressions contained in such.

And it is only the creative element which is protected.,

The facts contained therein are not.

Larry - Ellison says writing APis is 'arguably one of the most difficult things we do at Oracle.

Come on,,

How much work is involved with taking a list of names and phone numbers,
alphabetization them and generating a page header at the top 'Ora to Orz'?

I am not even sure that a phone book layout is copy-writable, other than page by
page copying of the finished phone book would be a violation

One of the keywords added turned out to be one of my pet variable names.

I tried to write a DATABASIC compiler a while back. Try compiling this as valid
syntax ...:-)

REM: REM = REM(9,4) ; REM this is a really nasty code example.

The first REM is a label, the second a variable, the third a function, and the
fourth a statement. Try getting THAT right!

This is caused by exactly your problem - trying to maintain backwards
compatibility while merging several slightly different dialects of the language
... :-)

Cheers,
Wol
