Your just using the wrong API

Your definition of bad is someone else definition of 'that's what I need'.

Larry - Ellison says writing APis is 'arguably one of the most difficult things we do at Oracle.
Authored by: Ian Al on Wednesday, April 18 2012 @ 04:06 AM EDT
I looked at some Java API definitions and then ran away.

However, There was reference to objects which implies to me that some Java APIs
are composite, involving objects from other classes.

If I haven't got it all wrong (moi!) then the API Specification incorporates
some of the logic and not all the logic is consigned to the implementation code
(the waste disposal unit, BitoBear) behind the interface.

So the API Specification for Java is probably 'much harder work' than an API
that does not draw on the object orientation of the language for which the API
is written.

I have avoided raising this, previously, because I did not think the 'sweat of
the brow' 'really hard work' exclusion by copyright law was being acknowledged
by commenters. This comment thread sets the scene for me to make this comment
(whether or not I have the tech right) without the 'APIs are very clever and
should be copyrightable' comments.
