Dennis Ritchie recently passed away.

With apologies to the Doors:

Poor Dennis dead and gone.
Left me here to sing this song.
Pretty little girl with a red dress on.
Poor Dennis dead and gone.

I think they did it while working for Bell Labs so Actel-Lucent probably owns
whatever has not been donated to someone.

Why stop at C?

Java may be derived from C, but C was derived from B from BCPL from CPL from
Algol.

Which means unless B, BCPL, CPL, Algol *ALL* have no copyright on them, Java is
a derivate of at least one of the copyrighted languages.

Which means that Oracle could find themselves in copyright infringement as a
result of their own precedent!
