Monsoon Media: "We intend to comply"
Monday, September 24 2007 @ 11:09 AM EDT

Monsoon Media has issued a press release, stating that it will comply with the GPL and will publish the modified BusyBox source code.
Monsoon Multimedia today announced efforts to fully comply with the GNU General Public License (GPL). Monsoon is in settlement negotiations with BusyBox to resolve the matter and intends to fully comply with all open-source software license requirements. Monsoon will make modified BusyBox source code publicly available on the company web-site at http://www.myhava.com in the coming weeks.

"Since we intend to and always intended to comply with all open source software license requirements, we are confident that the matter will be quickly resolved," said Graham Radstone, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer at Monsoon Multimedia.

Intend to do it and actually do it are two separate activities. So we'll see. BusyBox has to agree to let them use the GPL going forward, of course, under the terms of the GPL. So, to all those who came here to predict the GPL's doom or to leave comments about how weak the GPL is and how it would never stand up in court, blah blah, watch and learn.
