If its one with "the committee of IBM lawyers" all stuffed in the same
red dress up on stage accepting the “2007 OSCON award for best FUD
fighter" then I'll definitely buy one. I know, thats a crazy idea. I would
not expect many outsiders to understand that joke, just those of us who can't
live and breathe without this website. Way to go PJ!

I've been watching the NPR series about "Faces" hosted by John Cleese.
Sounds like an anomaly here. According to their presentation, because of TV
and other modern media, one's face must be instantly recognizable to be famous.
Looks like PJ has achieved fame while being incognito!
My hearty congratulations on the award, PJ. And someday I'd like to see a face
to go with the name, too.

Founded on honesty, integrity & freedom. The willingness to work together
for the good of the whole.

competitors admired a superior product and strived to top it.

Congratulations a very well deserved award, keep up the good^H^H^H^Hgreat
work!
Fudfighters unite!
You know you are right
And PJ's the
pick of the crop.
Fudspreaders beware
You better take take
PJ will
finish on top.
O'Reilly have said it
And Google will spread it
PJ is
a fudfighting champ
The awards she has won
Since Groklaw begun
Show
that PJ's the queen of our camp
SCO won't be amused
That we all know
they used
Fudspreading to boost up their stock
'Til a red dressing
lady
Showed the world they were shady
And gave their shaky foundations a
knock
The truths she is spreading
The Fudsters are dreading
These
days truth gets its boots on much faster
Monopolists lies
Have now lost
their disguise
Lets hope the spreaders soon have a disaster
And to PJ
"All Hail"
Your project can't fail
You have the backing of too many
heroes
We'll follow your lead
To smash corporate greed
And reduce
liars and cheaters to zero!
If you like it you may use it how you
will, as usual for my "poems" --- There is nothing in life that

I haven't checked in detail but I think PJ is the first female winner of one of
these awards. A reflection presumably of the sadly male dominated state of our
profession.
I don't actually believe in such things but I hope PJ is a role model that shows
that we aren't male dominated by choice, we welcome all comers, all ages,
genders, preferences, and if any little green men (or women) are looking in all
species!

My image is of PJ in a red dress with pen in one hand being wielded as a sword,
and the document of the constitution on the other arm as a shield on foot,
fighting off the three horsemen, Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

PJ,
Under your blog entry:
SCO Tried to Gag Groklaw in 2004
Saturday, April 28 2007 @ 07:57 PM EDT
You made, to my mind, a very valuable post in response to:

It seems to me that your posting there is particularly appropriate here.
Aside from the fact you were responding to a particularly dense reader, you
say a lot of useful things.

I've been in the computer business longer than most, including BillG.
FUD stands for (and always has) Fear, Uncertainty, and Deception.
Doubt is handled under uncertainty and is redundant in the "newspin
politically correct" "Doubt" interpretation.
