Or am I trying to be the first poster?
Anyway I think SCO will be a ship full of holes and a bunch of fools on the
ship.

Hackish is a dielect of the english language with little if any similiarity to
the language used on the nine 'oclock news. The questions arise: Are we shure
they both are english? And, What is realy being said when a court case involving
hackers is mensioned on the news.

Is it just me, or does the
" ...owner of the UNIX® operating system ..."
statement in the opening paragraph just not quite sit well with the
"UNIX is a registered trademark of The Open Group"
ending?

He was hired 6/2003, the lawsuit was launched on 3/2003.
Either he did not do
due diligence, or he knew what was up.
Forbes says (I think?) he was in charge
of Technology, software and programming.
Forbes
This says (more
correctly, I think?) he was a financial guy in charge of Sarbanes-Oxley.

What has happened to Mr Yarro. He seems to have slipped beneath the radar.
Is there a reason for this (i.e. is it deliberate?) or is it just that with
Canopy having shifted out of the spolight, Yarro no longer has a song 'n dance
act worth following (keeping the spotlight on).

Maybe SCOx will fill the board seats from the "ranks" of their legal
team. After-all, with the cap on legal, maybe they would not have to pay them
anything extra to sit on the board?
Any ideas as to which of SCOx's lawyers would be a good director?

Would someone like to buy a share in SCOX so you could attend the meeting? It's
also a good souvenir.

What forward-looking statements are there? That the meeting will take place
June 28. That they expect to fill the vacancies with nominees that have been
identified. That details on the nominees will be provided in the proxy
materials. What important factors could cause actual results to differ
materially from those anticipated? Perhaps other candidates could step forward
at the last minute. (Does their wording constitute an endorsement?) Or one of
their present nominees might become unavailable. Or, for the cynical among us,
the company might go into receivership between now and then. Or that their
proxy materials don't get provided. The company has a history of not submitting
required documentation on time.[ Reply to This | # ]

Nearly 20 years ago, my job included the duty of seeing that annual reports and
proxy statements were mailed to the company's shareholders in advance of the
annual meeting. I do recall that items had to be mailed at least 40 days in
advance. 40 days prior to June 29 is May 20. Well, perhaps I remember the rules
incorrectly,[ Reply to This | # ]

Perhaps I haven't been paying attention, but this is the first reference I've
seen to the SCO business unit name called "SCO Global Services". The
reference says "SCO Global Services provides reliable localized support and
services to partners and customers."
Hmmm. I wonder where they came up with the name "[insert company name]
Global Services" ?? Sounds oddly familiar... oh, I see, they are
intimating that they are just like IBM, ie, as in "IBM Global
Services".
Well, I suppose it's just another way of trying to pretend that you're actually
in business and providing a service, rather than admitting that your actual
business is "being a professional plaintiff". [ Reply to This | # ]

Okay my interest is peaked here. This is the second press release with this
language in the About SCO section:
About SCO
The SCO

businesses everyday. Headquartered in Lindon, Utah, SCO has a worldwide network
of thousands of resellers and developers. SCO Global Services provides reliable

There is no longer any reference to the ownership of
the UNIX operating system listed here, why? They still have the "UNIX is a
registered trademark..." language there but no other reference to it.
Interesting...
